Owing to Carlton's struggle in recent years, many Clubs were able to build up a long winning streak against the Blues - some record breaking in length. Whilst we're thankful for the Clubs that weren't able to do this, such as Essendon and Richmond who remained beatable on any given day, the long winning streaks entering into 2008 should remain a deep concern for the Club and a focus for redemption:
| Opponent | Streak as at the end of 2007 | 2008 Fixture(s) for Redemption | |
| Adelaide | 3 | Adelaide extended their run to 5 in 2008 | |
| Brisbane | 7 | Brisbane extended their run to 8, but then....Streak ended! | |
| Fremantle | 9 | Streak ended! | |
| St Kilda | 9 | St Kilda continued their run to 11 in 2008 | |
| Swans | 10 | Sydney continued their run to 11 in 2008 | |
| West Coast | 4 | Streak ended! | |
As above, other Clubs have also developed winning streaks against the Blues in this era:
