Game Review

One of the matches of the year, this thriller was played out in a finals atmosphere at Princes Park on the Queen's Birthday holiday Monday. Little seperated the teams from the opening bounce, but when Ian Robertson burst through a pack and kicked a team-lifter deep into time-on in the last quarter, the Blues led by four points and seemed sure to hang on and win. From the resulting centre ruck duel however, Richmond forced the ball forward to their star Royce Hart - who swooped on the ball and got a desperate kick away just as he was tackled. His miraculous kick cleared a big pack twenty metres out from the Tigers' goal, and bounced through to give Richmond victory by two points!
