Guernsey No. 6 (1977).
DOB:

Paul Wharton is a bit of a mystery, he was listed in the Football Record with the low guernsey number of No.6 for one round. Wharton was listed as No. 6 in the May 7, 1977 game against Collingwood but not the week before (Rd 5) or after (Rd 7). But there is no record of him actually playing in the Rd 6 reserves game against Collingwood???

This was not the Paul Wharton who was a ruckman for the VFA team Port Melbourne. Footscray were chasing that Pau; Wharton early in the 1977 season.

Wharton didn't play a senior game for Carlton.

Note: Peter Bedford played his first Carlton senior game the week after in Rd. 7 against Melbourne (May 14) and was allocated the No.6 guernsey for the remainder of the season.
