Bernie Cannan played reserve grade football for Carlton in 1949.
Cannan who was a 188 cm ruckman was recruited from Bendigo club Eaglehawk.
Cannan would later be granted a clearance to South Melbourne, this was granted in May 1953. We are unsure whether Cannan was injured from 1949 until 1953 or semi-retired until he cleared to South Melbourne.
He didn't manage to play a senior game for Carlton.
